ARTIST STATEMENT | This “Water Music” portfolio came out of the desire to re-imagine the traditional still-life. All images were made inside a studio using sunlight from a skylight. The original images were made with film and later digitized. These are what are known in the photographic world as straight image, meaning there has been no manipulation of any kind. The flora has been photographed underwater to create the illusion of life rather than nature morte (dead nature).
